Systems are networks of individuals, groups, and natural and man-made elements. The systems view considers both individuals and their relationships, causes and effects, and emergent phenomena that is only visible when looking at a system as a whole. Sustainable systems describe the human relationship with the natural and man-made world in terms of healthy and resilient economic, social, and environmental development.
